Furniture assembly sounds like a simple service — until the wardrobe stands crooked, the dresser is not secured, or the invoice comes in at twice the estimate. How do you recognise a service that is worth the money? These criteria apply to every brand: IKEA, JYSK, Höffner, Wayfair and everything in between.

1. A fixed price before the appointment

The most important point. A reputable assembly service names the price before arriving — not after. With an hourly rate you carry the risk: jammed screws, missing parts and beginner pace all land on your invoice. With a fixed price, the fitter carries the time risk.

2. Wall anchoring is included, not an extra

Dressers and tall wardrobes must be attached to the wall — manufacturers require it because unsecured furniture can tip over. A good service includes the anti-tip restraint in the price and brings fixings for your wall: concrete needs different anchors than hollow Altbau brick or drywall.

3. Every brand, the same care

IKEA manuals are good — other manufacturers cut corners there. JYSK cam locks take less torque, and no-name furniture sometimes arrives without a usable manual at all. An experienced fitter knows the systems and assembles cleanly regardless of brand.

4. Responsiveness and clear communication

Does the service reply within a few hours? Do you get a confirmation with a time window? Does communication work in English if you need it? These are the points where professionalism shows before the first screw is turned.
