PAX sliding doors: Why they jam — and how to prevent it

Sliding doors are among the most common complaints after self-assembly. They jam, run unevenly or jump their tracks. Frustrating — but almost always preventable. Montage und Fix Berlin follows the same calibration procedure on every PAX assembly; this article sets it out step by step.
Why does a sliding door rub on the frame?
Because the top and bottom tracks are not in exact vertical alignment. Just 2 mm of offset makes the door hang at an angle and scrape. We align every track with a spirit level rather than by eye.
Why don't the doors run straight?
Because the frame is not perfectly vertical — the normal case on an Altbau floor that drops up to 3 cm across a room. We set every frame precisely plumb, even where that takes several shims.
Do the rollers need adjusting?
Yes. The rollers on the upper door edge are adjustable, and the factory setting only suits a flat floor. On a sloped Altbau floor we reset them after final assembly.
